There’s a New Racer In Town…

And he’s riding Maroon Monsoon.  Ladies and gentlemen, meet Jason Pannell, the man who bought my race bike last week. He’ll be taking the WERA race school at Roebling Road Raceway and hopefully be able to race in both the GP350 and the GP500 on Saturday, June 1st.

Jason has track time experience on modern bikes, has taken the California Superbike School, and knows what he’s doing with a wrench as well. Professionally, Jason is a Volkswagen Master Mechanic.  Married with a lovely daughter, Jason wanted the benefits of the speed restrictions of racing on a 335cc, 40 year old technology vintage motorcycle technology. My confirmations of just that seemed to be reassuring to him.

Jason has been refining the bike a bit and should be ready to hang with the pack as he strives for two successful, crash-free, vintage races to advance from Vintage Novice Provisional to Vintage Novice status. After that, you may be seeing Jason start to push the limits and work his way to the front of the pack.

I’ll be happy to repeat the highlights of the race as reported to me, so take some good notes guys and tell me how it goes.
